Patrick Cumby, Vice President Business Development
Patrick Cumby is an enterprise performance strategist and organizational development expert with more than 20 years of experience. As an executive management consultant for government and industry, he specializes in change management methods and technologies.
In the area of organizational performance improvement consulting, he has served clients including the U.S. Coast Guard, Yahoo!, BellSouth, Geac, HBO & Co., the State of Ohio and OneWorld Systems. He has also held executive and management roles at Motorola, Global Village Communication, Dun & Bradstreet Software, SoftKey International, and Itex Corporation.
Cumby has a unique set of strategic, business and technical skills. He is comfortable working with all strata of the business environment including senior executives, managers, engineers, technicians, maintainers, and operators. He understands the intricacies of Federal small business contracting and winning proposal development. He is an analytical thinker with a strong technical bent and with several provisional patents under his belt.
He is an experienced project manager, having managed complex aviation and software engineering projects. He is an entrepreneur, having started or been instrumental in the start up of several successful businesses. His specialty is organizational performance and industrial systems design.
Cumby has a deep understanding of strategic planning and performance management processes. In fact, he has helped develop strategic plans for multiple federal and local government entities. He knows training and human performance and has developed successful training programs for companies like Yahoo!, Motorola, Dun & Bradstreet, agencies within DHS and USDA. His experience also includes developing a patented video-based maintenance job aid for the Lockheed C-130J Hercules.
He is an accomplished author and speaker, covering a wide range of topics from technical communications to workforce recruiting to identifying workforce performance influencers.
Cumby developed the Pathfinder Workforce Performance Modeling (WPM) methods to provide a roadmap for Federal agencies to comply with the President's Management Agenda and move toward performance-based Management. His team conceived, designed, and developed the Pathfinder suite of performance analysis tools, including Performance Modeler and Web Surveyor. The Pathfinder suite has been used to analyze and transform the jobs of over 40,000 federal employees and contractors in organizations ranging from USDA to DHS.
As a performance management consultant, Cumby has led knowledge management software development teams for companies including Motorola, SofKey, BellSouth and Global Village Communication. He has developed training and human performance solutions for large enterprises including Corel, Geac, Dun & Bradstreet, and Yahoo!, as well as for Federal agencies including the Farm Service Agency and the U.S. Coast Guard.
He combines his experience in developing business transformation, workforce training, and human factors programs with senior IT management expertise.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from The College of William & Mary.
