Stan Walz is an innovative aviation logistics thought-leader and strategist with 35 years of senior aviation logistics leadership experience in industry and government.
His active duty military experience in the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy includes the post of Commanding Officer, Coast Guard Air Station in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. He served as Assistant Director of Compensation for the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Department of Defense. He attained designation as a maintenance test pilot and an instructor pilot. He also worked as Chief of Aircraft Maintenance for the U.S. Coast Guard and Department of Transportation.
As a federal contractor Walz was Vice President of Coast Guard Programs, Perot Systems Government Services; Director Aviation Systems and Training, Soza and Company Ltd. (SOZA); and Director (Interim) Management Systems, Soza and Company, Ltd.
A former Navy and Coast Guard aviator and a respected leader in the areas of acquisition and sustainment logistics, Walz has held key management and executive positions at the Pentagon, within Coast Guard Headquarters, and at multiple operational and logistics commands. In his role as Vice President of Coast Guard Programs for Perot Systems, he developed and managed $140 million of logistics and information technology programs. Since becoming CEO of VectorCSP in 2006, Walz has been an active leader in supporting strategic DHS programs including providing key support to the Coast Guard's Logistics transformation and in acquiring critical aviation and surface assets.
His career has been centered around improving operational mission effectiveness while reducing the cost of the "logistics tail."
Walz is a Department of Transportation Fellow sponsored by the Council for Excellence in Government. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, PA; and a Master of Business Administration from Corpus Christi State University.
In support of the local community, Walz has provided strategic planning support to local universities, governments, and charities, and served as the Chairman of the Albemarle Area United Way and is currently an active Guardian Ad Litem in support of neglected and abused children.
