Joining a collaborative effort between the U.S. Coast Guard and CGAA, VectorCSP has taken on the Phoenix Project, a mission to fully restore an HH-52A to be displayed in the National Air and Space Museum (Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center) in Chantilly, Virginia. John Siemens and Craig Simmons, VectorCSP employees and retired career Coastguardsmen, are in charge of restoring the helicopter at the Elizabeth City airport. After transporting the aircraft from California on a flatbed truck and setting up the worksite, the artisans have begun the painstaking tasks required to ensure authenticity and museum-standard condition. Project completion is scheduled for March 2016.
